Hi, my name is Neville Campbell-Barker. I was born in Coventry, England a long
time ago now. I would describe myself musically as an instrumentalist but I’ve
been known to sing from time to time. I started gathering ideas for this album in 2017 and had track demos done for about twelve tunes by the end of that year. I then went on to record them properly, having real drums recorded for each track. By the end of 2019 I’d written more – a total of twenty one. Most of it was completed but still some tracks were unfinished.

Then the lockdowns started. It stopped the whole world from functioning normally.
The music marketplace went into overdrive and I decided it would be a bad idea to release this record into a swamped industry. So, here we are in 2026! Through the Fear and Famine represents in some way that period of time where there was fear of the unknown. Famine can be seen as a time that most have experienced in their lives as a time of absence, frustration, or stuck in one place, not being able to move forward. All metaphors I know, but I’m hoping it’s relatable.

I’d describe this album as instrumental rock, but it does have a few twists and
turns in it. Ultimately, for me, this album represents a journey through times of frustration and despair but ultimately, by keeping the faith…a journey that leads to hope, joy, fulfillment and peace.
